My mother-in law was diagnosed with breast cancer, during our visit to Finland. Due to that, we stayed in Finland longer, than planned. Thank God she's responding to the treatments. Lets keep her, in our prayers.
We came back to Kenya about a month ago. We've been busy, to get back few people we lost, while we were gone.
The warfare is real, but God has given us a victorious position in Christ. Jukka has been sharing about the warfare: our war is not against the people, but Ephesians 6 battle: against principalities, powers, the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in the high places. The greatest battle field is our mind, how do we think when we face the challenges.
It has been amazing to love people where they are at, to see them in the Finished work of Christ. Letting God love them, right where they are at. Not demanding a change, but trusting that, the love of God, when invested in, will produce a change.
And even more amazing is to see that it works, people are coming back.
The Bible school started on Tuesday, for now we've at least seven new students. New ones p. Peter from Dagoretti corner, Geofrey, Winnie, Helen.... Also p. Mbugua from Kiambu comes and p.John from Tanzania is back.
This semester two of the classes: Pastoral epistles and the Leadership will be taught also in Tuesday and Thursday mornings, so those who are not able to attend classes in the evening can come.
Last week Jukka, James and Jared visited Magadi. They left early in the morning and drove hours, first real roads and finally the "road" was between the bushes. The purpose of the visit was to meet Maasai people. Jukka's prayer has been for a long time, to get some Maasai's also to Bible school. Now it's to be seen if one man could be sent from Magadi, lets pray that it will happen.
As we're and a registered society, we would need a plot. The plot, owned by the church, would be so important; it would make the church here, more or less self supportive.
I quess this is it for this time, so that you won't get bored.
Greetings from p. Jukka and Helena
