A glimpse from our life

Time to show the glimpse of our daily life. Weeks go by so fast.

The Bible school has been going on almost a month. This semester Jukka decided to have both morning and evening classes. The morning classes are repetition from Friday evening Leadership class and Sunday morning Pastoral epistles class. This makes it possible for those, who cannot make it in evenings; like mothers and night workers can study. The idea for morning classes came, from few mothers. They asked could the Bible school, have also morning classes. Desire was that wives could be standing doctrinally by the side of their husbands, who are in the Bible school. Wow or what.

To see total over twenty Bible school students, its easier to understand the resistance we have faced. All kinds of rumors… ,but God. He fights for us like Exodus 14:14 says.

Jukka has been happy, to teach men also practical skills, like carpentry. By this people can afford to have furniture to their homes. One day Elvis stayed with us, as his mom went for shopping. During that time Jukka helped Elvis to build a car. You can imagine the joy of Elvis, as he got the first car, of his life.

As the church we started kesha=all night prayer once a month. This was the first one. It's funny, due to the security reasons, all of our household could not go. We realized that if we all go, us and Mike, no one will be on our compound, what could be risky.  We don't have a watchman. So, this time I stayed behind. But the great thing is, that I was in prayer, with those who were at the church.

Also I truly got a nice birthday present. "Good mama" hen was brooding, and as you can see from the picture, four so cute chicks came out. This is good because during our visit to Finland, we lost three chicken and one rooster. The reason was that my dog Poju, got loose, ate one, and the rest flew over the fence, and was taken by someone. This is life, what else can I say.

Few prayer requests: - our longterm visas, wisdom to fill out the forms, and to get visas without   delay
- owner of the house is selling this, we need a new house
- when and from where the church plot (funds for it)
- wisdom in the warfare

Back to the "business"

So many things has taken place, since you heard from us, the last time.

My mother-in law was diagnosed with breast cancer, during our visit to Finland. Due to that, we stayed in Finland longer, than planned. Thank God she's responding to the treatments. Lets keep her, in our prayers.

We came back  to Kenya about a month ago. We've been busy, to get back few people we lost, while we were gone.

The warfare is real, but God has given us a victorious position in Christ. Jukka has been sharing about the warfare: our war is not against the people, but Ephesians 6 battle: against principalities, powers, the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in the high places. The greatest battle field is our mind, how do we think when we face the challenges.

It has been amazing to love people where they are at, to see them in the Finished work of Christ. Letting God love them, right where they are at. Not demanding a change, but trusting that, the love of God, when invested in, will produce a change.
And even more amazing is to see that it works, people are coming back.

The Bible school started on Tuesday, for now we've at least seven new students. New ones p. Peter from Dagoretti corner, Geofrey, Winnie, Helen.... Also p. Mbugua from Kiambu comes and p.John from Tanzania is back.

This semester two of the classes: Pastoral epistles and the Leadership will be taught also in Tuesday and Thursday mornings, so those who are not able to attend classes in the evening can come.

Last week Jukka, James and Jared visited Magadi. They left early in the morning and drove hours, first real roads and finally the "road" was between the bushes. The purpose of the visit was to meet Maasai people. Jukka's prayer has been for a long time, to get some Maasai's also to Bible school. Now it's to be seen if one man could be sent from Magadi, lets pray that it will happen.

As we're and a registered society, we would need a plot. The plot, owned by the church, would be so important; it would make the church here, more or less self supportive.

I quess this is it for this time, so that you won't get bored.
Greetings from p. Jukka and Helena

Lets fix the "road".

Conference in Uganda

Once again we could travel to Uganda conference. The trip takes around 16 hours by bus, but is absolutely worth of it.

This years theme was: The Blood of Jesus Christ. It is so amazing to understand more, about the value of the literal Blood of our dear Lord and Savior. Jesus did shed as much blood, as was needed to cleanse us from all our sins, not only that but He also became sin for us, Hebrews 9:22. Oh, what a Savior.

The conference had about 850 people attending, from different parts of Africa. From Kitengela we were a group of eleven people. And surely we came back being changed by the Word. Many said, we need to save money to travel, again next year.

Jukka and I travelled there few days before, to enjoy the hospitality of Muhima's. During this trip one of Jukka's dream became true, he went for fishing at Lake Victoria. Trip was good, but he got no fish.

Graduation was special for us, because p.Erik Okana from Nambale, Kenya was the first ever in our ministry from Kenya who got degree certificate. Meaning he has studied in Nansana Bible school for three years. He has five children and wife, but they have agreed that, he travels to Uganda and studies there for four years. Between the semesters he goes back home. It seems this caused some Kenyan men from Kisii to consider, coming to Bible school in Kitengela. Lets pray it will work out.

For me it was such joy to see Imani again. Her and her mom are located now for a while in Nansana. It was good to spend time with her, and to hear her call: "My sosh" meaning my grandmother.

After conference we had Ladies seminar, Julie Arman from Malawi and me shared the Word. We heard amazing testimonies from Ugandan ladies. At the same time p.Schibelli had leadership seminar with men.

Greetings from p.Jukka, man who used to rather fish, and is now gladly fishing for men and his wife who loves to serve on his side.

Finally at Lake Victoria

Time to celebrate

We do have a good reason to be thankful, to the Lord of Lords and King of Kings.

Finally after many turns and twists, we got our society/church registration paper. Now we have GREATER GRACE WORLD OUTREACH, officially here in Kenya.

This time of waiting, was also time of spiritual growth for us. So many areas has been tested, but thank God; He kept on being faithful. Recently we listened p.Stevens's message where he taught, that problems come into our lives, to test us  and to teach us obedience.  But I do really say, that this principle can be applied, to that what we have gone through since 2011.

We had also privilege to have our daughter to visit us. It was so good to see her, enjoying her time here. She just loves ministering to the people.

Greetings from the Body of Christ in Kitengela

Happy new beginnings with Isaiah 43:18-19

2014 has begun and the first month of it is almost gone. Time is something we have now, in heaven we have eternity, and it seems that time flies by quickly. Or is it that I,m getting older and to do thing it takes longer time.

We were in Finland two weeks, visiting relatives, friends  and had good time in the the church. Weather was truly different than here. During our visit, sun was out for three minutes in total, it was dark and rainy. This time we did not even see snow, nor experience coldness.

Being back we have Bible school fully going on. Soon in February 14 - 16 th, we'll have seminar with p. Juha Haatanen and p. Sam Muhima. If you can come to celebrate with us. Think first five men will get their Certificates, meaning they have studied the Word of God for two years, each having between 50- 60 credits.

The pictures are from the home, of one our Bible school students p.Peter, from Kiambu. We were so blessed by this visit. Think to spent time, in an Eden-like environment, green, peaceful, fertile… the home is surrounded by tea and coffee plantations. Banana's, avocados, sugarcane grows all around the hills. Their home is wooden having no power, nor running water. For us a dream place to rest. We were welcomed so friendly, though with little fear, because we were the first white people visiting their home. But we were treated like royalties. In few weeks we'll go back to stay there few days.

We are truly privileged, that we can serve people with Jesus here in Kenya, greetings p. Jukka and Helena

Christmas Kitengela

Our Family Christmas

The Christmas day started early. Our sheep was taken to the church, to feed many. It was amazing to see how people came and started to help in chopping, cooking…

The message by p.Jukka had fresh revelation of Jesus's birth, from Luke 2: 1-20. God Himself took care of everything, not one single detail was manipulated by men. For us this means that Gosd Himself, takes care of the life that He has given inside of us. So we are in safe hands.

As I mentioned the preparations started early 7:30 am, the food was ready around 2 pm. But it was worth of waiting. Our menu had: roasted sheep, intestines, pilau rice with meat, chapatis, steamed cabbage, rice, tea. We fed about seventy people, and for sure we were hungry.

After the meal we had time for relaxing, before the rap/questions and answers time. There was some sports activities, like badminton, darts, ping pong and even football.

We came home around 6 pm, the day was busy, but so good. I think this started a new tradition to celebrate Christmas in our Kitengela church.

Greetings to all from Kitengela GGWO
